Announcing our collaboration with the Ashley Bouder Project
at the Peter Norton Symphony Space, March 17-18, 2017, 8:00 pm
All women choreographers and commissioned composers.
We are proud to be the accompanying orchestra for The Ashley Bouder (Dance) Project's first performances in New York since the summer of 2015. Two brand new ballets, plus a revival of Susan Stroman’s “Blossom Got Kissed” set to Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn. Along with Ms. Bouder, her fellow superstar principal dancers from the NYC Ballet, Sara Mearns and Amar Ramasar will headline.
Modern dance pioneer Liz Gerring will collaborate with award winning NYC based composer Anna Webber, creating a “pas de deux" for Mmes. Bouder and Mearns. This will mark one of the very first times that these two prima ballerinas will appear together onstage. Ms. Bouder will also choreograph a new work to a newly commissioned score by NY Jazzharmonic associate director Miho Hazama. Artistic director Ron Wasserman will conduct. Tickets $42-32-22. (Symphony Space member discount available)
As with all the classical arts, ticket sales only account for a percentage of the costs of this production. All financial help in support of this collaboration is tax deductible as a charitable donation to the fullest extent of the law. We also are seeking two leading individuals to be the principal sponsors of our two new commissioned works.
